David Harvey Delivers Annual Humanities Lecture, 10/18
David Harvey will deliver the annual Humanities Lecture next week, on Thursday, October 18 at 5 pm in Photonics 906, 8 St. Mary’s Street, Boston. The title of his talk is “The Urbanization of Anti-Capitalist Struggle.” A reception will follow the lecture.
Professor Harvey will also offer an open seminar to faculty and graduate students on Friday, October 19, at 2 pm in the College of Arts and Sciences, room 200, 725 Commonwealth Avenue.
David Harvey is the Distinguished Professor of Anthropology and Geography at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY) and author of numerous influential books. He is a social theorist of international standing and an insightful critic of the postmodern historical turn.
He is (according to Wikipedia) one of the most cited authorities in the humanities.
