Sara is originally from Queens, NY. She was born to Nicaraguan and Dominican parents. Sara is an undergraduate student double majoring in Sociology and African American & Black Diaspora Studies.

On campus, Sara has been involved with the College of General Studies as a Dean’s Host and also as part of the Committee for Common Ground. She as also worked as a Web Staff Writer, Model, Administrative Assistant, and Creative Director of her own project called “The Fates” for Charcoal Magazine. She is also entering this year as a Student Ambassador for the Howard Thurman Center (HTC).

Sara is passionate about social justice and intersectionality. She hopes to have a career that combats corrupt institutions and aims to make meaningful change across many systems including education, prison reform, and housing.

In her free time, Sara enjoys discovering new music, journaling, writing poetry, karaoke, record-collecting, baking, and frequenting coffee shops.
