Marcus Shaw descends from Jamaican and Panamanian grandparents and grew up as a military brat living in Massachusetts, California, and Maryland. He received his bachelors in African, African American Studies from Dartmouth College in 2020.

During his time at Dartmouth, Marcus found a passion for studying spirituality in various cultural contexts. He also served students throughout his Dartmouth career as a student coordinator for Black Student Advising in the Office of Pluralism and Leadership, a Sexual Violence Prevention Project Facilitator, and an Academic Fellow for the First Year Student Enrichment Program.

Since graduating, Marcus has pursued his purpose of helping people live their ideal lives through his work as a Mental Health Worker at the Solomon Carter Fuller Mental Health Center and a Student Success Coach at Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology. He also continued his education through a Fellowship with the Massachusetts Institute of Psychoanalysis and a Meditation Coaching Certification.
