Paid Internship Opportunity: CAS Communications
The internship is open to current undergraduate and graduate students in all BU schools. Candidates should have strong writing skills. Previous journalism experience or journalism coursework preferred. For summer, interns may work up to 20 hours/ week. For fall, we’re looking for students who can work 8 to 12 hours a week and make a yearlong commitment.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a “field reporter” by identifying story ideas for stories or social media posts and pitching them to communications colleagues
- Identify and seek out members of the BU community to feature
- Write news stories and other content about faculty accolades, student projects, or departmental announcements
- Develop social media posts and visual content about faculty research, interesting courses, and new programs and opportunities
Requirements:
- Ability to generate new and creative ideas
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
- Ability to take direction and work independently
- Ability to meet project deadlines
- Knowledge of social media platforms
- Keen eye for detail and sense of style, in word and image
- Interest in branding and graphic creation
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Illustrator, a plus
- Photo/graphic design skills a plus
