Contextual Education 2

STH TC 802

This experiential learning course invites students to connect what they’re learning in School of Theology classrooms with the practical experience of being religious leaders within a contextual internship placement within a faith community, local non-profit, chaplaincy setting, or social justice agency. STH TC801 & STH TC802 constitute a 2-course series that must be taken in succession, typically in consecutive Fall/Spring terms. In addition to a 15-hour/week internship placement, students in TC802 participate in a weekly 1.25 hour “Integrating Theology & Practice” peer reflection group with readings and case study theological reflection papers that deepen their personal and professional leadership formation. Internship sites must be approved by the Contextual Education Office before registration & students must complete a background check as part of their placement process. See the Contextual Education Office portion of the School of Theology website for the full internship placement process and deadlines. MDIV CORE REQUIREMENT
