MARPL Contextual Education 1
STH MR 801
Description: The MARPL Contextual Education Leadership Project is a one-semester opportunity for students to develop their practical leadership skills around a contextually based project of their own making. This project should move students beyond the classroom and into their context of leadership, but the final deliverable will vary from student to student. Students will complete 240 hours of engagement split between project preparation, implementation, faculty supervision, and a reflexive practice of vocational/professional discernment and personal spiritual formation. Students must have completed MR701 and six of their seven elective courses to be eligible to complete their Leadership Project. Ideally, this course should be completed in a student’s final semester of the program. The course is designed to support students in their integration of a critical understanding of religion with their practice of public leadership. This is a MARPL Core Requirement. Students must have approved site/project before starting the class. Please contact the STH Contextual Education Office.
