CGS Policy

Freshmen

• Upon completion of the first semester, students must have a 1.00 or above to continue into the second semester of the freshman year.
• Upon completion of the second semester, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 1.80 or above to continue into the sophomore year.

Sophomores

• Students achieving a grade point average of 1.00 or below in the first semester of the sophomore year and a cumulative grade point average of 1.50 or below shall be automatically placed on academic probation and may be subject to academic suspension.
• Students with a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 or higher who have earned at least 60 credits and have the proper electives are eligible to continue into the junior year at Boston University.
• Students with a cumulative grade point average below 2.00 will not continue at Boston University.
