CFA TH 151: Introduction to Design

CFA TH 193: Intro to SM - non-majors
Functions and responsibilities of stage managing on a professional level. Examination of the job of the stage management team from prep process through rehearsals and opening. Focusing on relationships with other departments in order to support the creative process in your role as a manager. Work involves developing the paperwork necessary to complete a typical production of a straight play. Meets weekly two hours in the spring semester. Fall Semester. 2 credits. -
CFA TH 197: Production
Each semester that a freshman Design & Production BFA candidate is in residence at SOT, he/she is required to enroll in an appropriate section of Production. Meets late afternoons, evenings, and/or weekends. Specific design and shop work in the mounting of student or professional productions. Does not include off-crew design work. Fall semester. 1 credit per semester assignment. -

CFA TH 239: Aesthetic and Philosophy of Dance
A survey of current theatrical and dance experience and practice with the Boston arts community, including the work of the Huntington Theatre Company, the American Repertory Theatre, Crash Arts, Celebrity Series, and various other venues. Lectures by faculty and visiting artists introduce each performance/exhibition experience and lead to thoughtful critical response.
