Operations Management in Health Care
SPH PM 832
This course is designed to focus on the field of operations management (OM) in health care. It will provide students with an understanding of how to apply OM principles towards efficient development of operational processes to mitigate risks and improve quality. Discussions from the text, case studies, and assignments will focus on strategies and techniques of project management, work-flow and system design, quality improvement processes, clinical pathways, and capacity planning, Additionally, this course will highlight the intricacy, complexity, and dynamics of logistics in health care.
