• SED SO 525: Multilingualism and Intercultural Communication
  This course describes the role of language, literacy, and communication in globalization by examining their use across cultural, political, and geographic boundaries, and highlighting how language and cultural forms flow in global networks and across cultural boundaries; constructing transcultural and transnational student identities. 4cr, 1st sem.
• SED SO 572: Curriculum and Special Methods for History and Social Science, 5-12
  Reviews traditional and recent curriculum materials in history or social science education for middle, junior, and senior high school. Analysis of curricular goals for grades 5-12. Development of new teaching materials and classroom techniques for social studies education at various age levels. 4cr, 2nd sem.
• SED SO 573: Teaching about the Cold War in American History
  The course is designed for history education majors of anyone interested in examining The Cold War period (1946-1963) through Hollywood movies (Dr. Strangelove, Seven Days in May, High Noon) and television (The Army McCarthy Hearings, Blacklisting, Hollywood and the Second Red Scare). Culminating activity will be the production of a non-tradiational unit on the Cold War. 4cr, 1st sem.
• SED SO 713: Field Experience: Intercultural Education
  Field experience in intercultural education within an educational setting. In most cases, this involves the development of instructional materials and a research project. 4cr
