The Grenoble Science Program at the Université Grenoble Alps, an institution that dates from the fourteenth century, is an ideal choice for pre-health and other science students. This unique program combines science coursework with French language study and is designed to allow students to take courses that fit neatly into their existing curricula and requirements.

Curriculum
Required Courses
Students enroll in the following 4-credit course:
Required Course
- French Language Course (4 credits)
- Students will take an online placement exam post-acceptance and will be placed in a course based on their level. Students are enrolled in a course equivalent to CAS LF 111 through the 300-level and will receive the appropriate Hub units. CAS LF 111, LF 112, and LF 211 all fulfill a single Hub unit in Individual in Community, while CAS LF 212 and beyond fulfill Hub units in both Individual in Community and Global Citizenship and Intercultural Literacy.

- Prerequisites: (CASBI108 OR CASNE102) and CAS CH 102 or equivalent
- Principles of cellular organization and function: biological molecules, flow of genetic information, membranes and subcellular organelles, and cell regulation. Students may receive credit for only one course, either CAS BI 203, 213, or 218.

- Fundamentals of contemporary organic chemistry, including electronic structure, stereochemistry, and reactions of important functional groups. Environmental problems, action of drugs, chemical warfare agents, insecticides, and chemical causes of disease.

- Elementary treatment of probability densities, means, variances, correlation, independence, the binomial distribution, the central limit theorem. Stresses understanding and theoretical manipulation of statistical concepts.

- Global Citizenship and Intercultural Literacy
- Social Inquiry I
- An interdisciplinary approach from the social sciences, particularly cultural anthropology, to explore intercultural issues and cultural theory in the contemporary context of globalization. Students gain an overview of French customs, values and practices with a focus on recent societal trends.

Housing & Student Services
- Students will live in shared rooms or apartments in residences.
- Rooms and apartments are furnished with a bed for each student, closet or dresser, table and chairs, and will have a shared bathroom(s).
- A meal plan is not included; however, students have access to an equipped kitchenette (including pots, pans, dishes, silverware, cups and glasses).
- Students will have access to local pay-per-load laundry facilities either in their building or at a nearby “Laverie” (Laundromat). Bedding, bed linens, and one bath towel per student is provided. Students should plan to bring or acquire onsite any additional bath towels.
- All residences are equipped with Wi-Fi
- Limited single rooms may be available, if for medical needs, for an additional charge.

This program is rolling admissions; applications are reviewed once all application materials are received, prior to all deadlines. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that all required materials are received by the BU Study Abroad office. Students are encouraged to apply as early as possible as some programs and internship tracks have limited space and may fill up before the deadline. Submitting a complete application prior to the application deadline, does not guarantee acceptance. Students will be emailed an admissions decision within three weeks of a completed application.
