Rolling Admissions

For rolling admissions programs, applications will be reviewed once all application materials have been received. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that all required materials have been received by the BU Study Abroad office. To ensure full consideration, students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible as some programs have limited space and may fill up before the deadline. Submitting a complete application prior to the application deadline does not guarantee acceptance. Once a program fills, a limited number of qualified students will be placed on a waitlist. Find updates regarding program availability. Students can expect an admissions decision within three weeks of a completed application.

Please check the specific program page to determine whether it is rolling admissions or an exception to rolling admissions. For programs that are exceptions to rolling admissions, decisions will be given after the application deadline. A complete application does not guarantee acceptance into the program.

Exceptions to Rolling Admissions

For programs that are not on the rolling admissions cycle, decisions will not be made until after the application deadline. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that all required materials have been received by the BU Study Abroad office, before the admission deadline.

Applicants will receive their decision via email.

BU Student Awaiting an Admissions Decision

If you are a BU student awaiting an admissions decision, you should register for on-campus courses as you normally would. If you are admitted to a program, BU Study Abroad will handle adjusting your registration and student account.

Fall semester applicants should also proceed with housing selection and deposit. If you are admitted to a BU Study Abroad program and accept the offer of admission, your housing deposit can be transferred to your required BU Study Abroad program deposit. Please refer to the BU Housing website for details about canceling a housing reservation.

Students who receive financial assistance should accept their financial aid package.
