The Arezzo Physical Theater program offers Boston University College of Fine Arts undergraduate students the opportunity to study at the Accademia dell’Arte during the spring term only. A rigorous conservatory-style performing arts school, Accademia dell’Arte fosters artistic development and exploration in interdisciplinary spaces where students are pushed to discover the full potential of their creativity. Young artists in this program get to work directly with traditional artistic sources which began and flourished in Europe. These young artists will take courses in movement, extended vocal techniques, and performance topics such as Clown and Commedia dell’Arte (Italian masked theatre). There is no prior language requirement, but Italian language courses are available. During their time in Italy, students live in Accademia dell’Arte-sponsored accommodations in the Villa Godiola Residence Halls.
