In 24 hours, the BU Men’s Basketball team led by head coach Joe Jones experienced the ultimate high, followed by a crushing blow. Barely a day after the Terriers won the program’s first Patriot League title with a shocking 64-61 upset over Colgate, earning their first berth to the NCAA Tournament since 2011, the tournament was canceled due to the coronavirus. There would be no March Madness for BU—but there was no sadness. Only joy. “We’re the true definition of a brotherhood,” said guard Jonas Harper (CGS’20, CAS’22).
