SCROLL

There was no walk across Nickerson Field to collect a hard-earned diploma, no ritual throwing of the mortar boards, no Class of 2020 Commencement. Instead, on Sunday, May 17, there was a virtual celebration led by Dean of Students Kenneth Elmore; there were scattered individuals walking around campus in red gowns, wearing masks, trying to social distance while also determined to get one more cherished photo with friends.

And it was all sad.

Noelle Monge (CAS’20) had just the right sentiments for the day: “I’m thankful I’m sad, because I have something I miss so much and something I want to celebrate correctly.”
