  1. One country taking legal action to change people’s perception of beauty is Israel. Last year they enacted legislation that fashion and commercial models must have a body-mass index of at least 18.5. This means that a 5-foot-8 model weighing 120 pounds, having a BMI of 18.2, would be disqualifyed from pursuing a career in modeling.

    It is also legislated the “Photoshop law” demanding that computer-generated touch ups to make models appear thinner be noted along with the images.
