Advice on how to make the most of your freshman year

We know what it’s like. We’ve all been where you are right now: excited, anxious, a little freaked out. How will I make friends? What if my roommate’s weird? If I get lost on the T, will people laugh at me?

Here’s the thing — no matter how nervous you feel right now, by October you’ll feel as if you’ve always been a Terrier. But don’t take our word for it — listen to the young alums, staff, and faculty who’ve seen it all before, and can tell you how to get through.

    Awesome Advice...

There are a ton more things to learn about your freshman year, but these are the main points that are vital. Be prepared for the weather, for opening your mind to a variety of cultures, and people. Get excited for classes. Fall in love with Boston and the school. When you find what you love, it’s a heck of a lot easier to meet other people with the same loves…Love of music, theater, art, sports (hockey @BU), food, dancing, the T…etc. Find what you love and meet people from all over the world at BU that love the same things…especially people in the field that you are studying.
