2014 New England Workshop on Software Defined Radio (NEWSDR’14)
The 2014 New England Workshop on Software Defined Radio (NEWSDR’14), is the fourth installment of an annual series of workshops organized by the Boston SDR User Group (SDR-Boston). The first NEWSDR event was held on Saturday 1 October 2011 at Boston University, the second was held at Northeastern University on Friday 11 May 2012, and the third was held at Worcester Polytechnic Institute on Friday 17 May 2013. The goal of these workshops has been to provide a forum through which individuals working on SDR-related projects in the greater Boston area can get together in order to collaborate and introduce SDR concepts to those interested in furthering their knowledge of SDR capabilities and available resources.
Following on the success of these workshops, this year’s NEWSDR event was held at Boston University on Friday 6 June 2014. The event was hosted by the Center for Information and Systems Engineering (CISE) and industry representatives from Mathworks, National Instruments, Ettus Research, Mediatek, Analog Devices, and Range Networks provided demonstrations of their current development tools for SDR and Cognitive Radio. The event offered a chance for presenting further developments in SDR and Cognitive Radio research by individuals in the greater Boston area. In addition to providing an opportunity for researchers to network and interact on issues relating to SDR and Cognitive Radios, the event included:
- Keynote by Dr. Jeffrey Reed of Virginia Tech
- Additional invited talks on the latest in SDR
- Technical oral and poster presentations
- Technology demonstrations
- Parking / breakfast / coffee / lunch included with free advanced registration
More information about registration and abstract submissions for technical talks and/or poster presentations can be found at www.sdr-boston.org.
