The resident will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of community service projects offered by the BU Center for Neurorehabilitation. The Center houses the country’s first National Resource Center for the Rehabilitation of people with Parkinson’s disease, established by Boston University and the American Parkinson Disease Association. The National Resource Center contains an exercise helpline in which people with Parkinson’s Disease, their families and health care professionals call in with their exercise related questions. The Center also offers Community Wellness Programs for people with Parkinson’s Disease. These Community Wellness Programs are currently implemented in 14 sites in the New England area.
