An important reminder
Just to remind everyone, if you have reserved time for a piece of equipment and are no longer able to make that timeslot, it is ultimately your responsibility to make certain that equipment has been shutdown. This is also true if you had a timeslot but were canceled it.
Some systems are very sensitive to excess on-off cycles so it is routine to leave them energized for subsequent users. We do not, however, want to leave things on when no one will be using them.
As always if there is any question about an SOP for a system, please ask facility staff.
