D I S T A N C E  E D U C A T I O N OFFICE OF DISTANCE EDUCATION The Office of Distance Education, as part of the Division of Extended Education, offers courses via live satellite broadcast, videotape, CD-ROM and online. Courses are offered in partnership with various colleges and departments of the University. Both credit and non-credit programs are offered. COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING We have been offering engineering courses to remote students since the mid-1980s. Our current program provides video conferenced lectures via streamed presentations on the Web, while our Manufacturing Engineering Department's Distance Learning Program brings graduate courses and a respected M.S. degree program to engineers working in industry through videoconferencing technology. SCHOOL OF MEDICINE:  GPI Distance Education Collaborative The goal of this outgrowth of the Generalist Physician Initiative (GPI) Project is to develop community-based, primary care education programs at 15 medical schools selected by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation for funding.
