Campus LX Open House
The Institute for Excellence in Teaching & Learning, in collaboration with IS&T and Blackboard by Anthology, invite you to our Campus LX Open House, designed to support your transition from Blackboard Original to Blackboard Ultra.
Tuesday, October 7, 2025: 2 pm – 5 pm on the Charles River Campus, One Silber Way, Metcalf Trustee Center, 9th floor

Enhancing Student Success in Large Classes
In collaboration with several programs in BU’s College of Arts and Sciences, the Institute is engaged in a multi-year initiative to redesign the student experience in large classes that typically have 100 or more students. This initiative provides an opportunity to reimagine and develop new approaches to course redesign, student assessment, classroom teaching techniques and the creation of instructional resources that promote engagement and learning in some of BU’s largest introductory courses.

Innovative Use of AI in Education Event Series
In partnership with AIDA, the Institute for Excellence in Teaching & Learning is launching a new event series to showcase how BU faculty are using GenAI to enhance teaching and learning across disciplines.

Insights in Action Series
Creating Strategies for Success for Every Learner: Join us on October 22, 2025, from 10 am - 12:30 pm in the Commons (room 205) in the Howard Thurman Center for Common Ground, as we explore ways in which BU faculty are using innovative and inclusive strategies to ensure all students succeed in their learning spaces.

The Shipley Center: Academic Innovation Funding
The Shipley Center supports all faculty working to create digital innovations for their residential undergraduate and graduate courses. The Institute for Excellence in Teaching & Learning is pleased to announce the 2025–2026 Shipley Academic Innovation Fund to support faculty-led initiatives that advance transformative teaching, interdisciplinary collaboration, student success, and innovation in curriculum and pedagogy.
