  1. Thank you for this very informative article and historic reflection. I am a native of Jackson, MS and a BU grad, Com 73. I had the great opportunity to attend BU during BU’s 1969 outreach program to the deep south for minority students to honor of Dr. Martin Luther King’s memory following his murder. The Jewish community was always supportive of the Civil Rights movement and I personally observed students and others on the front lines during sit-in and protests in Mississippi. Their unsung contributions were given at great peril and I appreciate the recognition this article gives to it.
