Washington D.C is the capital of the United States, and every time people talk about this place, they talk about politics. However, DC has a lot more depth. As I explored the city more and more, the feeling of strong political atmosphere started to become lighter, and I realized that D.C is actually a city that contains various aspects about people all around the world. This was especially seen through the museums I visited this semester.

The first museum that I went to was the National Museum of African American History and Culture, and I was really touched by all the historical cultural relics, and based on the facts that stated beside the pictures and videos, there are a lot more to be explored in depth. Looking up the situation right now, I would not say that this discrimination does not exist in the same way today, but as an international student, I definitely feel it some times myself.

The other place we visited that left a deep impression was the John. F. Kennedy Arts Center. Kennedy Art Center because of the wonderful evening programs, demonstration of the arts and creative spirit, as well as the increasingly busy social activity. The Center is out of the ordinary and worthy of excitement and admiration.

Watching a show is one of Kennedy Center’s main attractions, but visitors can also stroll on the roof terrace and enjoy the scenery of the Potomac River.

In the center halls, there countries flags and flags representing each state within the United States.

All in all, these two museums that I went to gave a deep impression about this city and its history because my home city is pretty new and it does not have that much histories in different aspects.
