Project 2: The role of neuromodulation

Brain states depend on activity of multiple neuromodulatory systems working in parallel to shape information processing in local and large-scale neuronal networks. We study how these neuromodulators affect vasodilation and blood flow directly by acting on smooth muscle of arterioles and indirectly via modulation of local circuit activity.
