Trustees Emeriti

The title of Trustee Emeritus is reserved for former members of the Board of Trustees who, in the judgment of the Board of Trustees, have provided distinguished and meritorious service, outstanding leadership, and exceptional contributions to Boston University over a period of years. Trustees Emeriti are elected by the Board of Trustees to three-year terms that are renewable at the discretion of the Trustees.

Trustees Emeriti will continue to participate in the life of the University as important members of the Boston University community, remaining available to assist and represent the University as requested by the President or the Board of Trustees.

Trustees Emeriti will be listed in all University publications along with the members of the Board of Trustees. They will be invited to attend one meeting of the Board of Trustees each year as observers, receive University publications, and be invited to University events, lectures, and convocations.
