Exploring England’s Brighton
Students studying abroad in the College of General Studies’ Summer Session 2 visited the seaside town of Brighton, England on July 13. Jose Alvarez (CGS’27) (from left), Mohammad Ali (CGS’27), Rehash Adhikari (CGS’27), Maia Lin (CGS’27), Sabrina Hamideh (CGS’27), and Sana Fathima (CGS’27) pose for a photo near Brighton Palace Pier. The students named the yellow duck Craig. During their semester, the students also visited the UK’s Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, toured London’s East End with actor Duncan Duff as their guide, attended a West End production of Tom Stoppard’s Arcadia—which they are reading in their humanities course—and spent an evening at the National Theatre where they saw the award-winning drama, War Horse. The students are taking courses in rhetoric, humanities, and social sciences during their studies in London. Photo by John Regan
