Celebrating BU’s Shared Values

The Living Our Values Initiative hosted its inaugural Our Shared Values lecture on April 29 at the Tsai Performance Center. The event explored the legacies of three historical figures who shaped BU and the world: Martin Luther King, Jr. (GRS’55, Hon.’59); Howard Thurman (Hon.’67), former Marsh Chapel dean and the first Black dean at a predominantly white US university; and Elie Wiesel (Hon.’84), Nobel laureate and CAS professor emeritus of philosophy and religion. J. Smith, an STH associate professor of New Testament, and Nancy Harrowitz, director of BU’s Elie Wiesel Center for Jewish Studies. Photo by Cydney Scott
