A Beloved Tradition: Marsh Chapel’s Service of Lessons and Carols

Marsh Chapel's annual Service of Lessons and Carols, one of the University's most anticipated and popular offerings, was held December 5 and 7. Comprising nine short Bible readings as well as carols and hymns, the service is modeled on the famous 107-year-old Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols held each year on Christmas Eve at Cambridge University’s King’s College. The Marsh Choir and the School of Theology’s Seminary Singers, led by Scott Allen Jarrett (CFA’99,’08), Marsh director of music, was accompanied by the Majestic Brass Quintet and organist Justin Blackwell (STH’07, CFA’09).
