Josh Safdie: Journey from BU Student Filmmaker to Hollywood Director
Award-winning filmmaker Josh Safdie (COM’07) (right) returned to campus November 21 for a master class with College of Communication students. Here with Craig Shepherd, a COM professor of the practice and film and television chair, Safdie talked about his journey from student filmmaker to Hollywood director. Following the class, he attended a screening of his latest film, Marty Supreme, starring Timothée Chalamet as a table tennis player, at the Coolidge Corner Theatre. Safdie cowrote, directed, and produced the film, which opens December 25. BU students, joined by students from Emerson and Boston College, also attended the screening. Photo by Michelle DeLateur
