There are 8 comments on Architect of Beijing’s Olympic Ceremonies to Receive Honorary Degree

  1. I’m delighted that BU has chosen to honor Zhang Yimou for his extraordinary artistry, both in his Olympic ceremonies and his films. He is such a humane and talented director–few have a better eye for color or movement. Maybe he should produce our commencement ceremony. ;)

  2. Mr. Zhang Yimou has colluded with the dictatorial regime of China and the Olympics has escalated the human rights abuses in China. He should not receive this honor and should be condemned for his actions.

  3. However Zhang’s latest films are received in China and worldwide, BU has taken a monumental step in establishing this contact with one of the single most famous Chinese-born filmmakers. This is going to benefit the Chinese film students studying in BU immeasurably.

  4. Great choice!

I’m from China and I’m so glad to see BU gave the honorary degree to an excellent director from my country. It makes me feel the strong connection and I’m proud of my country and my school!
