Helen Scott

Helen completed her Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Master’s degree in Biotechnology at Texas Tech University, where she studied plant genetics and evolution in the laboratory of Matt Olson and created a model of C4 photosynthetic acclimation under Nick Smith. Helen then worked in industry at Raytheon BBN Technologies where she focused on automating the Design-Build-Test-Learn cycle of synthetic biology. Since joining the Segrè lab, Helen has worked on developing software for COMETS and on studying the metabolism of marine heterotrophic bacteria.
