Congratulations to Behnaz for having her paper “Virus Mimicking Polymer Nanoparticles Targeting CD169+ Macrophages as Long-acting Nanocarriers for Combination Antiretrovirals” accepted by ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces!

In this work, we optimize and utilize lipid-coated polymer nanoparticles as multi-drug carriers for targeted delivery and release of antiretroviral drugs rilpivirine (RPV) and cabotegravir (CAB), which inhibit multiple physiological processes of retroviruses. This work is meaningful for the development of efficient antiretroviral strategies for long-term virus inhibition, and potentially for combatting antiretroviral drug resistance.
