RCT Certificate

The Religion and Conflict Transformation Certificate equips values-rooted leaders with frameworks and practices to work amidst conflicts toward peace and justice in their communities.

The Certificate in Religion and Conflict Transformation, awarded by the BTI Consortium, recognizes courses taken in this field at member schools, work in the field, and a capstone integrative presentation. Overseen by the Director of the Boston University School of Theology Tom Porter Religion and Conflict Transformation Program and the BTI Consortium, this certificate is not a degree but acknowledges your specialized interest within your broader studies.

Detailed Program Descriptions

Emily Padgett, '24

"It challenged me to imagine a world where harm is met with accountability and repair instead of cycles of punishment and isolation. I began to question the systems we live under, how power is held, disrupted, and rebuilt, and the role imagination plays in building the world we want… The RCT program gave me what I came to seminary searching for: grounding in theology, practical tools like mediation, and an integrated way of being with people, bodies and souls together."
