From a PRLab President: How to be successful in PRLab and beyond

Q&A with Jali Griesbach, President of Operations
On working your way up the ladder
PRLab is a great place to put into practice everything we learn in our COM curriculum. “It is one of the best in the country and sets us up so well to succeed in PRLab and in leadership roles,” Jali says. She previously worked at PRLab as an account supervisor and agency director, where she had the chance to experience all the learning and professional opportunities PRLab offers.”
On overcoming nerves
“I admittedly had some imposter syndrome, but Professors Shanler and Joseph’s encouragement helped assure me that I could succeed in this role,” Jali said, and encouraged herself and others to “trust in your abilities to provide quality work.” As she said previously, the COM curriculum sets all of us up for success. “COM students have the abilities to really succeed in a PR agency if given the resources and guidance they need.” which is what guided her role as president.
On presidential goals
Jali took inspiration from her presidents when she was an E-board member. “They enjoyed developing the agency more to ensure more students have just as formative of an experience.” She wanted to provide that same experience to the E-board students she led over the past year, and has also enjoyed watching their growth. Her most rewarding takeaway from this past year as PRLab President of Operations, she says, was, “seeing the confidence and problem-solving skills of our E-Board members build throughout the semester.” Presidents as well as other leaders in your agency, are excited to see and want to support your success and growth.
