FAQ CardSwipe Entry
BU ID cards have information encoded on the magnetic strip and RFID inside. Depending on the reader type, they can be swiped or tapped.
The card readers are connected to the central database, allowing it to query your authorization.
Some authorizations are universal (i.e. everyone with an ID has authorization), some are only for students, and most are only for residents of that area (like dorms).

SWIPE READER: it will be yellow when you approach, when you swipe you will see a green light and will be able to open the door. If you get a red light either there was a problem with the swipe, the reader or you do not have access. Some swipe readers prefer an upward swipe others a downward and occasionally the double swipe.
Please make sure the mag stripe is in the reader and your card is in the correct orientation
TAP READER: (not sure but) you approach the reader, tap the ID against it and it opens
