Do You Like
It?
We now take the next
step into the forest of
the imagination that William
Shakespeare walked
into when he wrote plays such
as
As You Like It,
so dark green
were those woods and filled
with fairies and enchantment
that, like sounds offstage,
are hovering near, hovering near
the hut where you have taken refuge
and the deer stand stock still because
they might have heard something
that could harm them, then look down
and go on grazing. You stop for a moment
to think of how scared you would be
if you were being introduced
to the actual William Shakespeare .
His dark eyes penetrate your head.
You look down. His shoes
make you feel like screaming.
