Experience in MSSP:
While my undergraduate studies provided a strong theoretical foundation, I always yearned to apply my skills to practical problems. The Statistical Practicum at BU caught my attention. Through research consulting projects and industry partner projects, I gained hands-on experience across diverse fields. These opportunities allowed me to understand the context of each problem and apply classroom learning effectively.
Professors Masanao, Haviland, and Luis played pivotal roles in my development. Their guidance extended beyond statistical concepts; they mentored me both within and outside the classroom. Their support has been an important part of my experience.
During my time in MSSP, I worked on a consulting project evaluating the implementation of the BU Hub. Led by Luis, this project deepened my interest in the academic sector. It reinforced my desire to contribute to student success through data-driven insights.
Given this background, I finally decided to be part of the RPI team in the Office of Undergraduate Education, where I can leverage my skills to empower students. My team and I focus on analyzing student data to enhance student success. It’s a rewarding role that allows me to apply my expertise in mathematics and statistics to real-world challenges.
