NOTE: The Media Studio is available for MET faculty and staff only. Student and non-MET uses are not permitted at this time.


Overview
Located at in room 148 at 1010 Commonwealth Avenue, the Betsy & Jim Walsh Media and Recording Studio is a space where MET Staff and Faculty can run live virtual events and produce audio/video projects using professional equipment with the assistance of MET IT staff.
Our staff will configure the space to your needs, operate the recording equipment, and provide real-time support for live-broadcast projects.
For recordings that require post-production, MET IT will provide access and training in the use of the appropriate editing software.
NOTE: Due to the comprehensive support involved, projects in Studio 148 must be planned out with ample warning (6-10 days).
Equipment & Layout
This space can accommodate 1-2 people on-camera individuals and 1-2 supporting staff in the following arrangements. Please see the photos below for a visualization of your options.
- Interview Style – 2 Large Armchairs
- Interview Style – 2 High Stools
- Demonstration/Discussion – Desk with 1-2 chairs



The Recording Studio also features a suite of professional-grade recording and AV production equipment, including the following:
- Panasonic HC-X1 4k Camera
- Liteputer DMX-Controller Astra-6X Studio Lighting Array
- 55″ Sony 4k Confidence Monitor
- Shure BLX Wireless Lavalier Microphone System


Support Policy
MET IT is responsible for the following:
- Provide access to users following a completed Inquiry Form and project consultation meeting.
- Monday-Friday: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM – Subject to Support Availability
- Equipment training
- Equipment maintenance
