If you have memory problems and would like to become involved…
Initial Referral Processs
Referrals to the Memory Disorders Research Center are accepted from neurologists, neuropsychologists, other health care professionals, and family members from anywhere in the greater New England area. Upon receiving a referral, the staff of the MDRC will contact you or a member of your family to schedule an initial evaluation.
Your evaluation can be arranged at a time and location convenient to you. The results will be reviewed with you and, if you wish, with your physician or rehabilitation therapist. In addition, the clinical coordinator will be available to you and your family to address ongoing issues related to the management of memory loss. Confidentiality is maintained at all times and there is no charge for the evaluation.
Participation in Ongoing Research Studies
After the initial assessment, you will be invited to participate in ongoing research projects. By contributing your time and energy as a research participant, you enable us to learn more about how memory operates and the factors that contribute to its failure. A typical research study involves viewing words or pictures and answering some questions about them. You will be compensated for your participation in our research. Confidentiality is maintained at all times.
