There are a number of ways that undergraduate students in linguistics can get involved in research at BU. The BU Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) provides stipends for students to complete research projects under faculty supervision. Since 2016, the department has supported 45 UROP projects. Many students go on to contribute to ongoing projects in faculty labs. Undergraduates frequently present their research at conferences and can choose to write an Honors Thesis, which provides a path to graduating with Honors on the Thesis Track.
