Serena Theobald

Serena Theobald is from Los Altos Hills, California and is pursuing a major in data science with a minor in French. She was previously the Chairman of the Los Altos Hills Youth Commission, interned at Stanford Medical School (shadowing an ICU neurologist and VA hospital nurse) and worked as a marketing and UI design intern at a Silicon Valley tech startup called Tutree.

She is currently involved in the BU Data Science Association, is Vice-President of the BU French Club, and works at the Murray Causal Lab as an undergraduate research assistant, adapting a calibrated statistical model to assess various cervical cancer and HIV vaccination strategies among perinatally exposed HIV positive populations.

She enjoys playing jazz and classical piano and violin, and has performed as a solo piano act in Carnegie Hall in New York. After graduation, she plans on attending graduate school to pursue a master’s in biostatistics and biomedical data science to help solve issues plaguing U.S. and European healthcare systems.
