Mirra

Mirra is developing plant-based, biodegradable food colorants that replace titanium dioxide and other synthetic white pigments in food products, delivering the brightness, opacity, and stability that brands need while enabling clean-label reformulation as artificial additives face increasing regulatory scrutiny. The company uses a patent-pending technology that converts GRAS-certified ingredients into stable nanostructures, allowing food manufacturers and ingredient suppliers to maintain product quality and visual identity without the health and environmental concerns associated with petroleum-derived dyes or mined mineral additives. Mirra is led by Christa Campbell (Questrom’25), Elizabeth Bridges, and Leila Deravi.
