Farms for Thought

Food for Thought Foundation is a sustainable grocery store model for low-income communities that implements autonomous vertical farms in schools and community centers.

Farms for Thought is building climate-resilient food systems by placing autonomous vertical farms and hands-on STEM curriculum directly in schools located in food deserts, enabling students to grow and distribute fresh produce to their households and communities at no cost. By localizing food production in trusted public institutions, Farms for Thought eliminates the barriers of distance, cost, and supply chain emissions while empowering students to become producers and leaders in their own food systems. Farms for Thought is led by Emma Ekua-Bedua Hudson (ENG’27) and Maryam Bellakbira.
