These ambassadors are more than just student representatives—they’re experienced innovators who have been in your shoes. Here’s how they can help you:

Let’s meet this semester’s ambassadors!

Mya Kelly

Mya is a sophomore majoring in Psychology and minoring in both Applied Human Development and Entrepreneurship. At Innovate@BU, she participated in the First-Year Innovation Fellowship and the Idea Incubator, and collaborates with a startup called Popple through the Innovation Pathway. Mya’s commitment to education and accessibility inspired her to found the Rise Foundation, which aims to enhance access to financial literacy and mental health resources for underserved communities. Outside of Innovate, Mya serves in the Academic Affairs department of Student Government, participates in UROP with the Higher Education Accessibility and Leadership Equity Research group, and is a member of the Sankofa Undergraduate Research Program.

Nevaeh Calliste-Williams

Nevaeh is a junior at the College of Communication, majoring in Media Science with a minor in Anthropology. She is the founder of a nonprofit organization dedicated to social impact and has actively engaged with Innovation Pathway and other Innovate@BU programs. Nevaeh is deeply passionate about leveraging innovation to create meaningful change in the community.

Hannah Martin

Hannah is a current senior studying Political Science and English. She is a previous Summer 2024 Enlight Fellow, where she worked on starting her own venture focusing on bridging the gap between low-income, rural communities and access to education. Through this Innovate@BU program, she also worked in the Housing and Homelessness Prevention Department at Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) on their Mobile Homeless Outreach Team (MHOT). On campus, Hannah serves as the Vice President of BU Closet, a newly founded organization that promotes circular consumption by hosting free and accessible clothing swaps for students, faculty, and staff.  She also works as a tour guide in the Admissions Office, is a Senior Editor for the Boston Political Review, a Kilachand Honors College Ambassador, and serves as a CAS Dean’s Host.

Richard Casimir

Richard is a Boston University student who is pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Management Information Systems. He is passionate about creating an impact by programming events that promote wellbeing in underrepresented communities. He is currently the Head of Programming at BLK Capital Management, Corp, where he applies his organization and passion for programming to support members through virtual learning so they can be exposed to asset management, investment banking, and private equity. Richard is also a Financial Literacy Advocate at Boston University Innovate@BU, a program that selects and coaches students who want to launch innovative ideas. As part of this program, he educates personal finance to promote financial inclusion and empowerment.

Jeremiah Somoine

Jeremiah is a sophomore studying Computer Engineering. He participated in the FYIF last year and is currently in the Innovation Pathway. Apart from his involvement with Innovate@BU, Jeremiah is active in Spark!, NSBE, and StuGov. He’s excited to answer any questions you might have about Innovate@BU and his other campus activities.
