As an International Student Advisor for Admissions, Rachael Kerr performs detailed credential and immigration review and analysis, creates new student profiles, issues immigration documents, and advises incoming students to facilitate their arrival in the U.S. in the appropriate immigration status.
Prior to serving in this role, Rachael worked as a Senior Coordinator in the ISSO, providing administrative assistance to BU’s diverse international students, scholars, and employees.
Before joining Global Programs, Rachael worked as an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher for the Michigan Language Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She has also taught ESL with EF English First to students in China and with a private language center in Nagoya, Japan. She has additional experience planning internship abroad programs, having served as a Graduate Program Assistant for the Graduate School at Michigan Technological University.
Rachael holds a Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics from the University of Massachusetts Boston and a Bachelor of Arts in Film, TV, and Media from the University of Michigan.
As an undergraduate, Rachael studied abroad at the University of Edinburgh in Edinburgh, Scotland. She has traveled extensively in Europe and Southeast Asia. Rachael enjoys studying new languages, keeping up with the latest movies, and fencing.
