Katherine Lukens

ISSO International Student Advisor for Admissions

As an International Student Advisor for Admissions, Katherine Lukens performs detailed credential and immigration review and analysis, creates new student profiles, issues immigration documents, and advises incoming students to facilitate their arrival in the U.S. in the appropriate immigration status.

Prior to joining BU Global Programs, Katherine worked at MIT in its Center for Entrepreneurship. She also worked at UC San Diego for six years as a Senior Program Manager. Before beginning her career in higher education, Katherine worked in the academic publishing sector and served as an AmeriCorps VISTA for Habitat for Humanity.

Katherine holds a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies from St. Lawrence University, and a Master of Arts in Education and International Development with a specialization in Conflict, Emergencies, and Peace from University College London in the UK.

She enjoys international travel, having lived abroad for the last several years in Mexico, Spain, and England. During her undergraduate studies, she studied abroad in Shanghai, China, and in East Africa (Kenya and Uganda) – experiences that inspired her passion for international education and cross-cultural exchange.

Katherine loves running with her dog, practicing yoga, reading, and being in nature.
