Global Programs Photo Contest

Launched in 2013, BU Global Programs Photo Contest invites students, faculty, staff, and alumni to share the world through their lens. Each year, members of the BU community—throughout Boston and the world—submit images often tied to a theme, like Global Engagement or “I am Global BU.” Over the years the number of finalists chosen and winners have changed, currently we have 16 finalists with two winners. One in a Judged category and the other winner chosen by “People’s Choice”.

The first year of the contest we had 420 photos submitted by 150 individuals, an impressive start. In 2025 we had a a record 1087 photos submitted by 439 individuals! We are so happy to see the participation continue to grow after all these years and how popular the People’s Choice voting has become with over 1100 Terriers casting votes in the first round in 2025.
