Latin American and Latino Communities in Boston: Challenges and Perspectives
- Starts: 4:00 pm on Friday, November 20, 2015
- Ends: 6:00 pm on Friday, November 20, 2015
Our aim is to establish a dialogue between the University and representatives of the consulates of Brazil, El Salvador, Mexico, and Colombia in Boston on the challenges facing their communities. Also participating in the event will be representatives of local Latin American and Latino organizations, including IBA Boston (Inquilinos Boricuas en Accion), as well as members of Alianza Latina, Mexas (the Mexican Association) and LATAM (Latin American Students Association) here at BU. The dialogue will focus on issues of mutual concern, including political, social and economic problems in Latin America and their impact on citizens in the US, as well as the challenges - cultural, economic, legal, and social - facing the Latin American communities in New England and their representatives.
