Senior Research Associate position in Zambia

Global Health Corps and ZCARHD will be hiring a Senior Research Associate who will provide technical support to the Research Unit of the Ministry of Health headquarters in Zambia.  Please follow this website to learn more about the application process and the position requirements.

After the application deadline, February 17th, the selection process will proceed in 3 stages:

  • Application Review, Feb 17 – March 6 [GHC]: Global Health Corps will review applications and identify 10-12 semi-finalists for each position. Candidates are judged based on a scoring rubric that covers relevant skills and experience, leadership potential, and strength of character.
  • Semi-Finalist Interviews, March 12-30 [GHC]: Semi-finalists are interviewed by GHC (staff, fellows, and alumni). The top 3-4 candidates from these interviews are identified as finalists.
  • Finalist Interviews, April 2-13 [Your Organization]: Partner organizations will receive contact information and application materials for the 3-4 finalists from the American pool of candidates and 3-4 finalists from the Malawian pool. Your team will have until April 13 to interview the candidates, and return your ranking of preferences for both positions.

Fellowship Opportunity: US Embassy Policy Specialist Program

 IREX is pleased to announce the competition for the 2012-13 U.S. Embassy Policy Specialist Program (EPS). The U.S. Embassy Policy Specialist Program provides funding for U.S. scholars and professionals to travel to Eurasia and serve U.S. Embassies or USAID Missions as policy specialists on a research topic proposed by the Embassy/Mission.  Researchers are able to directly contribute to the formation of U.S. public policy by conducting research on topics vital to the policy-making communities, as well as increase their understanding of current regional issues and develop and sustain international networks. The fellowship provisions include: logistical support, international airfare, visa support, in-country housing and workspace, a living expenses stipend and emergency evacuation insurance.

The Global Health Fellows Program II is pleased to announce its Internships with the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in the Agency’s Washington, DC headquarters. These exciting positions consist of a summer cohort of 25.

Work with the largest development agency in the world

USAID is home to a wide range of global health professionals working on health projects of international scope and importance. Contribute your skills to specific activities in one of the offices in USAID’s Bureau for Global Health—Office of the Assistant Administrator, Office of HIV/AIDS, Office of Population and Reproductive Health, Office of Health, Infectious Diseases and Nutrition.

These internships provide a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of global health. Interns will be working with experienced professionals on health projects of international importance.

One Year Internship Opportunity with Stipend in Guatemala!

Hospitalito Atitlán is a non-profit, non-governmental hospital located on the beautiful shores of Lake Atitlán, Guatemala. It primarily serves the indigenous Maya people of Santiago Atitlán and nearby communities. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency care, clinics and education. There is a special emphasis on maternal and infant care, as the maternal and infant mortality rates in this region are among the highest in the Western Hemisphere. The hospital staff is comprised of a unique combination of local, permanent staff including physicians, nurses and social workers along with medical and non-medical volunteers from around the world. The hospital is currently looking for an intern to work in their development office in order to assist with the development of new plans and programs for the hospital.
